About The Bunker Theatre:

With four concrete pillars marking out a large thrust performance space, an eclectic mix of audience seating on three sides of the stage, and a craft beer bar, The Bunker is a visceral and unique performance space of its own.

The Bunker believes in artists. They give ambitious artists a home in which to share their work with adventurous audiences. They are champions of each company that they programme, and they want to ensure their stage is filled with exhilarating and comtemporary theatre featuring artists that represent the world that we live in.

The Bunker was opened in October 2016 by founding directors Joshua McTaggart and Joel Fisher. The theatre's first year of work included the award-winning sell-out show show Skin A Cat, CardboardCitizen's 25th Anniversary epic Home Truths, and the world premiere of 31 Hours. In-house productions include My White Best Friend, Abigail, Eyes Closed, Ears Covered and Devil With The Blue Dress.

In September 2018, Artistic Director Chris Sonnex joined Executive Director David Ralf to lead the theatre's small but dedicated team, several of whom were involved in the original conversion of an inderground car park into The Bunker space. Bunker Theatre Productions CIC is a not-for-profit theatre, which currently recieves not public subsidy.
